also try saying it in a 'pleasant' tone. I learned tones mean an awlful lot from our trainer. high pitched pleasant when you are pleased with them, and the 'mommy' voice when you are displeased or trying to be assertive with them. She says NEVER raise your voice or associate things like a come command to do something they don't like or in a bad tone. Eg. don't say come to do things they hate, instead say come, hug and kiss them so they associate it with a positive thing, then do what you need to do.
