Another thing that I've noticed when the kid gets a pet and mom raises it...that pet will always favor the parents because that's who takes care of it, usually the mom (thank God for yall,lol) to me that's all the more reason to wait until your able to fully care for that pet. But that could just be me and that jealous bone in my body. I get the biggest kick outta Nala following me around and watching my every move rather than my moms.

Absolutely! Olivia has only been with us a little over a week. Because I took time off from work to be with her after she got home, we've really bonded. This weekend, she was laying with my boyfriend on the couch and I was sitting across the room on the chair. I got up and went into the kitchen and Olivia got upset and started barking because she couldn't get to me. I love that! She's my baby, and it's so much different than having a family dog.
