This was going to be my suggestion too. A dog's skin is much more alkaline than our own. Human shampoos are designed to be more acid, making them too harsh on pet skin. You should especially not use medicated shampoo on dogs. I've also read not to use baby shampoo. Stick with a pet shampoo -- you may want one especially designed for skin problems until you clear this up. But just getting back to a more alkaline product might take care of it.
