This is a good question, but the answer varies GREATLY per dog and it's environment.
I'd say that during the housebreaking phase you should offer your puppy water w/ each meal and if he's not a big drinker, add some to his food-enough so that it floats. He'll get PLENTY of water for the day if you do. In addition, I would offer him however much he can drink in one sitting about 10 minutes before taking him out to potty. The one thing I certainly wouldn't do is give him free water or water more frequently until the housebreaking is well under w/ and w/ great success. |
