I have Jaden and Jewelina's nails trimmed once every two weeks at the latest by my vet. If they go to their vet or groomer in between them I have them trimmed then as well. I find it is best to keep them quite short, then you only have to nip the slightest bit off and it doesn't bother the dog at all. I tried once to do it myself but then I didn't want to hurt either of them or get a bleeder so I decided to let my vet or personal groomer do it for them. It's around 7-10 bucks and pays for my ease of mind.
