I'm with Cherry on this one....I comb my girls EVERY DAY...sometimes twice on the weekend if my neighbors are about, as they seem to have this obsessive thing about mussing their hair.
Maggie is WONDERFUL about being combed. I can just stand her on my lap and she'll let me do whatever. (Of course, Maggie has had 4 years to perfect this).
Molly, who I got at the age of 5 months, and had probably (based on the condition of her coat) never before seen a serious combing, is getting better. I still have to stand her on the washing machine, but at least she no longer struggles (well, not much anyway

) and cries like she's being murdered.

I figure it won't be long before she'll let me do her on the lap too.
MacKenzie, who has just joined us, is very agreeable to being combed...so she too is being done on the lap.
Anyway, I don't even own a slicker brush at this point. (I would think that thing would hurt). Rather I have a steel comb which works wonderfully.
Truly, you just have to keep at it...doing them daily. Just think how your hair would look if it weren't combed for a week, and someone was always mussing you up!
