I asked about its effect on a yorkies trachae, and he said that is blown out of proportion, that very few yorkies ever have that problem. Am I being too picky, or does this sound like a training system not made for our little guys? Sorry this is so long, but I am really interested in your opinions. |
It depends on the type of "training collar" he is referring to. If it is a chain choke collar or an e-collar then I would run not walk to a different trainer. I also agree with the not using treats. When using treats you are bribing your dog to do something for you and in the long run (in my experience) it can backfire. Then again I am kind of worried that they use he same generic approach to every dog (that's what it seems like). I am a firm believer in catering training methods to the temperament of the dog. Not one method works for every dog.
