My vet told me the same thing about having the dog spayed before she has her first heat. Apparently if you wait until afterward, it doesn't have the same benefit of preventing mammary cancer in later years.
Molly is going in on the 24th (poor baby). She'll be just shy of 7 months old at the time.
And, like so many, she has a ton of retained baby teeth (a full double set on the top...looks like a shark) which we'll take care of at the same time to avoid the double anesthesia. |
