You might have a better time in a more pet-friendly town. Perhaps you can find a spot that has a number of places that allow pets and that at least allows dogs on the beach at night. I find that if I take Max to a pet-friendly town, there are dog water bowls outside of the shops, they let you in with your animal, etc.
It's a nice experience.

Brooklyn is actually very pet-friendly. No water bowls outside, but most of the stores allow Max in as long as I hold him and the beaches are open to dogs at night. We have several pet-friendly bar/clubs which I have to visit. I'm not advising Brooklyn for your vacation, but it makes life much more pleasant and easier for me.

Have a great vacation,

Judy
