Puppies that are born w/ a blue coat do not automatically mean that they are going to have issues as adults. Yes, there is a known link to them having conditions through into maturity, but that's not a guarantee.
I know of plenty of blue pit bulls; weims; dobermans; shar peis and so on that have magnificent coats and great skin. It does happen.
I do not advocate breeding for this color because the blue can have concequences in a breed that it's not supposed to be present, however. Simply because it's considered a fault if nothing else and the only real reason anyone should be breeding...especially such a popular breed...is to better it by adhering to the standard. Which one would not be doing if he/she reproduced another blue litter on purpose. |
