I totally understand how this probably hurt your feelings. You know your dog is not aggressive. He was probably assuming she was offering him a snack. However, it they were to give their little two year old a piece of meat or whatever to eat and the little one offered it to your dog (as little toddlers will do) and your dog had the same reaction as he did to the mother, they would probably get very upset at your dog. Even though your dog was just reacting to a food offering and not biting the child. Parents are very protective of their children and their dogs. Better to avoid the situation. Especially since you are friends.
