Cry Advices from overseas

Hi,

If anyone please can help me, give me advises or just anything I would be ever so grateful!
I have been looking on Internet about this but have not been able to find anything. The thing I did found was this forum, so that gave me some hope and also of course joy.

My problem is my yorkie Lia (Eulalia). She is 8 1/2 month old. In October she broke one of her front legs while she was playing with my older yorkie.
Lia have had 4 surgerys and the last one was for 10 days ago. If not this one will help the veterinary has to remove her leg.
Next appointment is on Monday 5th March.

I would like to hear what all of you have to say about this. If anyone has experience from this matter, or just anything!!!
My veterinary has worked for some years in USA and he told me that amputaion was not such a big matter there, when it is about such a tiny york I have. He told me they can live a happy live without pain and do just great with 3 legs.
What do you all think about it?
Once again, I would like to hear both bad and good answers. I really need help and cannot find it anywhere.

Lia is an extremly happy little girl that not seams to be bother at all by casts, bandage, surgery or medicinces. She is very brave!

With kindest regards
Vivi
