Well, Archie and Willie are litter mates, so we did get two at the same time. We weren't planning to, but we could never have picked only one of them. They had us at first lick.
I had read that getting two of the same sex from the same litter is not the best way to go since they will tend to bond more with each other than to their humans. But with my two that definitely has not been the case. They are very attached to each other, but every bit as attached to us.
It really is up to you, but considering everything, I'd really do it this way again. Since they are the same age they are on the same schedule, eat the same food, and so on.
My opinion is somewhat tempered by the fact that my two have been very easy --- they are healthy, are not at all destructive, play well together and are almost totally house trained. Two have not been twice the work for me. |
