I think the poster was making some for herself anyway and was wanting to know if she could give that to her dog(s) rather than spending the money on the store bought jerky from the petstore.
And if the poster wanted to, (we had a dehumidifier that my dad always used to make his own jerky) she could simply NOT put any seasoning on the jerky that she's to give the dogs when she makes it.
