I had a maltese and a yorkie growing up, and they are both wonderful breeds. Also, about two months after my husband and I got married, we got a yorkie. He is the love of our lives
Now that Miko is almost three years old, we just got a maltese a few days ago. We decided to go with a maltese for our 2nd doggie because I think the breeds compliment each other very well. They are very different, but both are sooo sweet. The only thing I would say, is that it's easier to keep a yorkie looking clean. Maltese do get tear stains sometimes, and you want to keep them white, so sometimes that takes more work, but I personally don't mind, as I have the time for it. They both require daily grooming. A yorkie can sometimes be more hyper than a maltese, but they're both sweet. My yorkie was fully potty trained within a month of having him, and my maltese is already potty trained as well. I don't know if my post is very helpful, but I do love both breeds
