First, you need to decide if he should be bred. He should have his patellas checked, liver shunt tested and have a brucellosis test as should the female have all the same tests done. Then you have pedigrees to study and do research on your male's and her females's line. You don't want them pass down a genetic health problem to their puppies. It takes alot of reasearch and time to breed, you can't just stick two dogs together and hope everything turns out alright.

To answer your question, it is best to ask for a stud fee rather than pick of the litter.
