Just to make you feel better, maybe, I have a lil pet yorkie that I purchased at a flea market (this was before I knew better and yes, we all make mistakes(. However, I wasn't at that time even thinking about showing and breeding. Anyway she was sold with AKC open registration (she was spayed), about a year later I received a letter that because of incorrect records her registration was pulled. A year later it was reinstated, a year later pulled. The final letter said that if I wanted her AKC status reinstated that I could have her DNA tested. It wasn't important to me, she's a pet and I love her AKC registered or not.
If it's important to you to have her AKC registered, keep in close contact with her breeder
