My post will probably be different from everyone else, but here is my opinion: if you're not sure, don't do it! You need to be 100% sure before you commit yourself to this potential problem.
It's nice to assume that the previous owners "didn't try everything", but unless you've talked to them, you don't know that for a fact. This dog may be one of those who is extremely hard to house-break. It happens.
While your living arrangements sound good, are you sure that all 5 adults are "on the same page" about house-breaking methods? Is everyone willing to take the pup out - and stay out with her(even in the rain) - hourly? Do you all agree on a training method? If so, what is it? If not everyone agrees, you need to spend some more time talking about this until everyone agrees.
