It just won't end for this poor little guy I guess. Cubbie has lost the vision in his eye. His retina detached and the eye socket is still full on old blood. He has developed a secondary cataract (?) because of the pressure and the eyeball itself is soft. The opthalmologist gave Nancy another eye drop to be given 5 minutes after the first on. Hopefully this will relieve the pressure so he won't loose the eye even if it can't see out of it. This specialist was really abrupt and didn't pull any punches. She thinks the eye is going to have to come out. She also said that false eyes don't work with dogs. They are more trouble than they are worth. Is this true?
On the other hand Cubbie's ear infections are clearing up nicely and his road rash is nearly gone. His personality has perked up and is back to normal, but he is still clingy. He ventures farther away from family members in the house more and more. Outside - no change. He's right by their side.
Bless you Cubbie. |
