Well, it's okay to meet big dogs that are well trained and, more importantly, on a short leash. Also, I check with the owner first. I try to let Mia meet as many dogs as possible, but I also stand close to make sure the situation isn't getting out of hand. Mia has met some very sweet older big dogs, they sniffed and played a little and I am glad she has. But if the neighbor is walking his Rottweiler without a leash, I am picking Mia up AND crossing the street.
