She was suppose to be 12 weeks but I think she was much younger than that. When I took her to my Vet she weighed 6 ounces, my Vet was furious with the breeder. Needless to say, she started having health problems almost immediately. Her breathing was shallow, she was not eating, seizures, etc.... After about 3 weeks and spending about $900 in Vet bill, and stay up nights to feed her every 2 hours, my poor little baby died. I was so devastated I cannot begin to tell you. As time past, I decided I wanted to try again but I could not bring myself to fall in love with another Chihuahua, so, I decided to get a different breed altogether. After much research, I decided that I wanted a Yorkie, so my search for a breeder began.. I found one very close to my house and as luck would have it, she had a little female available.. I went to her house, took one look at Desi and knew she was mine. 2-1/2 years later, I now have Desi and Millie and looking for a third.

Awww that's so sad about your first chihuahua. I actually met a breeder who had chihuahuas that small too. One in particular looked so tiny that it looked like it was sickly and could die any day. It's a shame that breeders will do that to animals.
