Hello everyone! I've been wanting to post for hours, but my DSL line was down. I've been bouncing off the walls!!
Rhapsody has been found, and is now home, but I have a very odd (and maybe a heads up story).
We got a call very late last night, about 11 -- which is late for us since everyone knows we have two young children in school. A man was calling, his name was Brian Simmons, saying that he had found Rhapsody. Now what's odd is that he said he found her in a McDonald's parking lot (the McDonald's that he mentioned is over 7 miles away), and he said he found her at about 1p.m. This would have been only about half an hour after Rhapsody came missing.
Also he wanted to know if there was a reward (byw: he got our phone number off her tag). My husband said possibly, and wanted to know where Rhapsody was. The guy was very evasive. . . saying my home. . . in Edmond, but making it clear he wasn't going to give any personal info. Even though we gave him our address and my husband's work address and phone number. Needless to say he wasn't very smart; he'd called from his home line, and we had his address within minutes from reverse phone number online.
The way he acted was just. . . weird. Anyway he said he'd given her a bath because she had stickers and burrs in her coat (which I know she didn't even have any tangles when she left since she'd been brushed out that morning, and her coat's kept fairly short.) He said he'd meet up with us tomorrow either in some parking lot somewhere, or at my husband's shop. We left it at that since we had his address, and it was late (the kids were in bed.)
The next morning my husband called him about 9a.m., and the guy mentioned a reward again. My husband (Donald) said yeah, there's a reward, but I want to see my dog first. This guy brought Rhapsody over to my husband's shop -- Donald went ahead and gave him $20.00 just to get rid of him, but Donald had the impression that the guy was expecting and wanting a lot more. But once Donald had Rhapsody the guy really couldn't do anything.
We reported this to the police. . .just because it seems suspicious, and just to let the know what happened just in case this guy did this as some scam or something. If this Brian Simmons doesn't do it again; then nothing will be done, but if the cops get more complaints they can investigate.
Is this not the strangest thing you've every heard?!!! But we are celebrating that Rhapsody is safe and sound, and we are taking precautions that this doesn't happen again.
Thank you to everyone for their concern and support. Ya'll are awesome!
