It all depends on genetics, not the size of either the male or female. The male does not determine the the size of the pups. My female 6 1/2 pounds bred to my 6 pound male had 3 tinies the 1st time and this time 3 larger pups that are proving to be to standard. So, breeding the same 2 dogs can produce 2 different types of litters, based on genetics and how the genes mix up in the the whole process
