California market is rather on the high end. At times breeders will bite the bullet on an unproven male and stud him out with out a fee, just to have him proven. There are tests that you should have performed on your male prior to breeding him.....hearing, eye, x-rays, bile acids. Remember when studding out your male, if anything goes wrong structurally, genetically, the male takes the brunt of the blame.
