Default whelping

JMO from years of experince..I want to see NO discharge but a clear one BEFORE whelping..sometimes the hair of the vulva can get a bit matted with this discharge and it looks slightly brown..but it is best to trim the hair and blot the area..if it is not yellowish white, I want to see the vet. Green can mean a placenta has separated and one pup has died..doesn't mean all are dead by any means. Also, green is the color of old blood...take her temp and make sure she has not developed an infection...after whelping you may see dark green from old blood draining from the uterus..but it should not have a smell of infection.
Best wishes
