Just kidding, Yoda used to be fearless and do crazy jumps up onto a guest bedroom bed. It must have been at least 2 and a half feet high. But he's make it most of the time. I know he's jumped off our bedroom bed too at times (probably 3 feet high) when he thinks there is some emergency going on. At least the carpet in both rooms is pretty soft, though I prefer him not to jump from high distances. His poor little legs have given out at times and he's limped like he twisted it or something. But he's been fine for a while now... I still need to get to making those steps like MikeM made for Otis!
There's always the cushion thing, for lack of "Mike stairs"! We were so afraid Toto would injure herself, and since she was so determined to jump up on stuff, we stacked two flat cushions which gave her about an 8-10" boost and it worked well! When you travel, you get very inventive!
