I agree with everything said already - but just to clarify and add experience to the issue...
We had a hard time at first with Pixie. Our house has... (had?)... tile throughout which made it easier to clean, but no less frustrating. I did finally do the diaper thing. She peed in it ONE time. I let her sit in it for a couple minutes - just long enough to realize that she didn't like it - then we bathed (which she also doesn't like)... and she hasn't peed in it again. The diaper idea isn't necessarily something to use 24/7 for the rest of her life, but can be a good aid in teaching her that her diaper is on and she doesn't *want* to go in the house, but the diaper comes off outside and she gets praised there. With the exception of excitable urination, she hasn't really had any more accidents at all.
