After we got our boy, I tried everything to get the "breeder" (and I use the term loosely) shut down. Unfortunately, at least in Illinois, it's hard to shut someone down who has a license. At the time, I was a member of the media and I had backing of several animal org officers. It was all to no avail.
I can only hope that all these years later maybe they are gone.
We didn't buy Ozzie -- we ransomed him. And I'm so glad we did. He is one of the sweetest little guys ever.
That experience was a complete opposite to the first Yorkie we had. He came from a great breeder who carefully screened buyers and even went and got back some of her dogs when she found out about abuse! Unfortunately, she died before we were looking for another puppy. |
