Default breeding

It is acceptable...but what I said is...genetists call linebreeding, inbreeding..but breeders do not for the most part.

Each breeding is totally different. It is not good dog breeding to make blanket statemenst like..."breeding an uncle to a niece, grandparent to grandchild is perfectly fine....you have to look at the dogs in the line, the pedigrees and make sure you are drawing on healthy, quality genes to produce quality. Do these dogs have traits so desirable you want them reproduced over and over in a litter?...Some years ago we did alot of father/daughter breeding..very acceptable in Yorkie circles...but there was an excellent article in the Yorkshire Terrier last year stating these close breedings are no longer needed and quite risky now.
The gene pool is so large today, breeders do not have to inbreed to set type and improve quality..IMO.
