Hi! I feel so sorry for you. I went through the same thing with my yorkie. She turned 1 in December. But let me tell you now she is the best and smartest dog ever. I wont tell you that she doesn't sometimes have an accident but it is VERY rare and usually always my fault. I thought I would never get to this point like you do. I almost gave her away but my 8 year old wouldn't let me and now I am so thankful. The things that have worked best for me is getting the right size cage. I have bought 4 different ones and finally found the right one it is black metal with divider in it the box say extra small for toy or small dogs under 10lbs. Use the divider in the beginning. I also bout the exercise gate for her but it didn't work because to much space. My yorkie sleeps in her cage and loves it we tell her if we are leaving or going to bed to go to her cage and she jumps right in I think she feels very safe in the small area with her blanket and toys. I do not put water in the cage unless I will be gone for more than 5 hours(very rare). But please trust me when I say I know what you are going through and I cried and felt so guilty during these times. But now I can't imagine how I would have felt knowing now how good she turned out but I will tell you it took a year to get to this point. Hang in There!
