Mineral Oil would be fine....with his tummy tender, there is a possibilty that he has trapped gas and my need the glycerine or warm water. A couple of drops of Milk of Magnesia under his tongue, may do the trick. His rectum being red and pooched out sounds like he may need his anal glands expressed too. Keep us posted on his vet visit.
