I've tried that slicker brush and it HURTS - the brushes with the covered tips is much better - and another really good product to use for puppies is
JOHNSONS NO MORE TANGLES - it's for children but I use it on my girls and you can easily work out any tangles - A groomer turned me on to it 2 years ago and I still use it
