With a new puppy, my vet does the fecal exam, skeletal exam, examine the legs for luxating patella, examines the hips, looks at the ears, eye, teeth, etc. as well as de-worming (even if you have records indicating this was done) and the first round of vaccines they will administer. They will also ask what you are feeding, how you plan to care for their teeth and answer any questions you have. Please don't let the vet give the distempter and lepto together on a small pup. All vaccines should be done seperate to lessen any chance of reaction. Rabies does not need to be done till 6 months. They usually won't do the blood work for heartworm till 6 months either, but they will recommend you begin a heartworm regime right away as well.
Congrats on your soon-to-be pup & good luck at the vet.
