Even if your vet doesn't carry it, he may be able to prescribe the royal canin veterinary hepatic ls 14. It's made specifically for dogs with compromised livers. With more of the things they need, and less of the things they don't need. They sell it at petsmart near the pet hospital area, but you have to have a prescription. I can tell you that Miko has improved so much ever since we switched his diet. Also, I highly recommend lactulose. This, in my opinion, is very important because it really helps push the toxins out of the body. Ask your vet, if that's something he would recommend.
