I used to think that the female determines how many pups there will be (I guess based on the number of eggs)... and the male determines the sex... but after mating my Lucy with my Rocky many times the number has changed... she used to have 4, even 5 in a litter... then she had 2 (less eggs??... getting old??)... I mated her with my Butch this time and she had 3.
So who knows?????
