I have replaced my carpet several times w/rescue/foster dogs. I had a beagle pound pup that dug up most of our carpet that had only been down for 4months , when i came home to that , I was like Lord give me strength. A boston terrier I took in tried to make her own pet door thru the bathroom door, she was use to a crate & I called to ask my husband to let her out, he did -then left her out. I called to check up & he had been outside, I said you put the dog back up right? No I said where are you, get in there, I havent had her long enough to trust her, he said oh what could she do that any of the others hadnt. I said -RUN, We have half a bathroom door now, lol. We've replaced our carpet twice in 8 yrs due to pound puppies destroying it & a few doors, lots of trim, kitchen chairs.....I have slacked off on rescue because they broke my bank, I love helping but dont have time & organization to become nonprofit-no one wants to donate unless they can write it off on taxes & dont have the money to keep remodeling & caring for them out of pocket. Also they dug up our vinyl in the kitchen, so thats our next project. I havent fostered in awhile & this is why.
