I wanted to grab him up so bad and forget the whole deal...He looked back at me from the car window all the way to the end of the street...

He was given away, not sold, there was no amount of money to compensate for his worth to me. (I do not sell retirees)...but I also do not give them to just anyone.

Six months later he came for a visit...he pranced in the door like the king he was, jumped in my lap and gave me lots of kisses..when it was time to go, Josie got up and walked the door...Chopper jumped down and ran to this mother very excited..he got his coat on, walked out the door, never looking back at me...in the car he sat on Josie's lap looking straight ahead, because he knew he was going home with his mother...
I am ever so grateful to Josie for all she has done for my boy. He is walked twice a day like clockwork...something I could never do. If Josie can not get home at lunch she has the pet nanny walk him... He is very old now(15)...and at 10 Josie spent a fortune saving his teeth..I told her it was okay to have the loose ones pulled..old Yorkies lose teeth, but she took him to a doggie dentist for treatments to keep his teeth as long as possible.
When I think about Chopper, I have the warmest feelings..I have done all I can for a very special boy who made a dream a reality for me...he is gold in my eyes.
Nice Story YorkieRose. See you did what you thought was best for the Yorkie and didnt place him with just anyone. You knew the home he was going to was a good home for him .Even thou it was hard on you you did what was best for him. Times like this I understand rehoming. and I wish they all had happy endings like this.
My post was on Pet owners and breeders that dont seem to care where their dog ends up.
I had a little Chi mix I took in to rehome because the people said they couldnt keep him we treated him and took care for him and found him a good home. I diidnt take him in to keep or anything . I just took him in because of the condition he was in at the time , noone wanted him. But once he was well and ready to go. We had got attached to us and I found him a home and The lady that took him walked him on a leash and he too would stop and look back at me and It broke my heart. and I told hubby I would not take another rescue in because I get to attached to them. Its to heatbreaking for me. But then the next rescue came and I did take it in and cared for it and rehomed it. But every time it was heartbreaking to me. But not as bad as that first little male. Ill always remember him. Unlike you I didnt know the people who took him and I never saw him again. So Ill always have that sadness of not knowing and wonder if I did the right thing, In my heart I think that I didnt, I should of kept him.
