Well, they are in their x-pen when we are at work, because we both work. On the weekends when we go out (to eat or run errands, no more than 3 hours) we sometimes x-pen them or crate them. Since we have been having troubles getting them to sleep more than 2-3 hours at a clip at night, we figured we'd do ourselves a favor trying to get them crate trained during the day (on weekends) and they would hold it better at night. But it doesn't work, because he is used to going whenever, leading to a weak bladder, and hence he goes in the crate. Also, if we were to ever travel, crate training would be essential so he wouldn't pee in it in our car.
