Default Heart Murmurs-

Heart murmurs are funny things.

I myself have a heart murmur, nothing major (MVP)- but it was only detected initially by ONE doctor. A pediatric cardiologist when I was...geesh, 15? And since then, maybe 1 out of 6 or 7 doctors will notice it while listening to my heart, but w/o a doubt it's there. This valve prolapse occurs in about 70% of the female population and goes unnoticed by many doctors.

So, if one vet thought he heard something...I'd still be wondering myself. The only way I personally would rule it out w/ one of my dogs is to have an ultrasound done or see a cardiologist.

In either case, have fun w/ the little one(s) while they're still around!

OH! PS.....I also wanted to say, that if your Yorkie was suspected to have a murmur as a PUPPY, they CAN and often do in fact GROW OUT OF THEM. Depending on which valve is prolapsed and how bad.
