Cordelia went through this when I first brought her home. The pumpkin works if you can get them to eat it, but Cordelia wouldn't eat it. The vet said that I could use petromalt which is for cats hairballs. It acts as a laxative. Also make sure the hiney area is clean. Cordelia was getting poo stuck in her coat and it would block the poo from coming out.
