The vet was a little frustrated cause she said it was big enough that the breeder should have noticed it. She said it's a simple surgery that will cost me about 60 bucks, and that everything else looks good but that it needs to be taken care of. So she has surgery next friday. My poor puppy. I told her I was concerned about anesthesia with a puppy that small and I've heard horror stories of yorkies being given anesthesia they should have had and she said they use a gas anesthesia that should be really easy on her. Please say a little prayer for my baby girl, I feel bad she has to have this already and wonder what could have caused it, although they told me it was not uncommon in yorkies.
I would be very concerned that a vet did a surgery on a pup that was 8 weeks old for hernias, hernia's are very common and the surgery itself was a lot more life threatening than the hernias are.
A lot of times these hernias will close up before they are spayed and if not they do it at the same time as the spay. As for your vets decision to put this pup under at 8 weeks for hernias
