Well you have done a wonderful thing giving her a loving home.

I adopted my Peanut at 1 1/2 years old. She came to me completely hairless, skin and bones barely weighing 2 pounds, unsocialized and not in the least bit potty trained as she had only lived outdoors on a farm her whole life. She had just given birth to a stillborn baby, so the breeder no longer wanted her and had her for sale on puppyfind. She was shipped to me with c-section scabbing still in tact, poor baby. She also had a huge scab on her neck from being bred repeatedly. Anyway, I have had Peanut for 2 years now and you would never believe she is the same dog! She is now a whole wopping 3 pounds, spayed, has hair (lol) and is about 75% potty trained, 100% poo poo trained. Peanut is the love of my life!!! I just adore her and can't believe what a precious little angel she is. She is mommy's baby and is in my lap as I type. she is the girl in my avatar picture, picture was just taken two days ago. Anyway, it did take quite some time for Peanut to adapt and welcome all the love we had to give, so as long as you are patient (and you sound wonderful so I am sure you are) I bet she will do just fine. By the way, Peanut also does not know how to play. She will not touch a toy but she will occassionally cary a stick around from the yard. Lol! Toby LOVES toys, so Peanut will watch Toby play fetch and just stand on the sidelines wagging her tail like his cheerleader.
