The lookout is basically designed for the backseat. And they really can look out (they are quite high up). I don't have one, but a good friend has several, and when we go places with her and her guys Gingers sits in one of her carseats. She loves it.

I used to put her in her celltei bag to travel (it has seatbelt straps) but since we got Bernie was in need of a new arrangement. I'm to cheap to spend $150+ on the two dog Lookout, so I ended up making my own.

It's not pretty, but it works.

I got a long sturdy laundry basket and a $7 bed pillow at Target. Added a blanket I already had, Dollar store leashes to use as straps to slide the seatbelt through, and a leash connector ($6) at petsmart. The whole thing took 5 minutes to assemble, and both can sit in it or lay down.

Heck if I knew how to sew I could even make it pretty, but G & B could care less!
