I first bought all the "pin" brushes, etc. which just didn't seem to work without hurting Toto. I had an old boar bristle, round brush that I used on my hair probably 20-25 years ago and it works wonderfully! I also had a "detangler" comb from the "old days". I spray Toto with Coat Handlers Detangler as I brush and work the mats out and it helps with breakage too. Also, the Bless the Beast Detangler shampoo helps with mats and keeps it from getting so many. Hope that helps a little.
