I called my best friend and asked her to post for me as I was unsure when I'd be able to update you all - and that it may be Monday before I'm able to really get back online.

I've had the absolute worst day of my life. *sigh*
Caddo had a massive seizure at 5:30 and was comatose for an hour or so, then he started having seizures one after another and never regained consciousness. I posted here to ask for help and read the first couple immediate replies which said to get him in ASAP which was the only thing I could think of to do, too... I slammed my computer shut, grabbed him, and off we went. He continued to seize even up till we got to the vet. His temp was so low it didn't register... they got it UP to 92.3 at one point... and our vet said she couldn't do anything for him and he was rushed to the Animal Hospital where he was in ICU all day. After getting him settled there, they let us say "bye"... which we knew would probably be the last... and we went home to find yet more tragedy.

Later this afternoon, the vet called and said that Caddo continued to have seizures and there wasn't much change in prognosis and they anticipated him to go at any moment... She called back later and talked to my husband - he hadn't made it.

When we got home, we found our house in flames. The red cross put us up in a dump hotel for 2 days, then we're on our own... and our insurance company isn't cooperating. In the mean time, I hacked in to someone else's internet near the hotel (they didn't even provide a CLOCK, much less internet).

I do see the private messages... I'm not going to read them. They're probably about Caddo and I just can't take it right now. If I delete something by mistake, please just resend it and take no offense.

Oh... and on the house fire... I totally freaked when I saw it... because I knew Pixie was inside. I was out of the truck and running before my husband stopped... Thank GOD of ALL days, it was THE day that we had problems with Caddo, rushed off, left the door unlocked, & called a friend to get our daughter... because they couldn't lock the door behind them. When our neighbor found the fire, she was able to get in and she rescued both Pixie and one of our cats... (the other wasn't rescued, but she managed to survive under my daughter's bed). The neighbor was devastated because she couldn't find the baby - his cage was open and he wasn't anywhere... so we told her that he wasn't in the house - he was in ICU and thats where we'd been. Preston is an outside (pug) dog, and he was able to sit in the far corner of the yard - we sent him to east texas to be with my husband's family until we can figure something out.

Anyway... we lost baby Caddo... and we lost our house... but I still have my husband, my daughter, and Pixie. And I found out just what great friends that I've made. One rescued Pixie and called the fire department, the other is helping tremendously with my daughter.

My daughter's room and my study didn't get anything but smoke damage. Our bedroom got *some* fire damage and smoke... it's most of the rest of the house that went up in flames.

For now, I bid my farewell... I'm not sure when I'll make it back on regularly... as for TXgurl, if your baby has ANY symptoms, get her checked ASAP. She offered us a *discount* on another baby... but I told her my house burnt too and I couldn't handle another baby and expenses and everything else. Besides, I'm too raw to try again.
