I know some people try to keep vaccinations to a minimum and go with just one distemper, one parvo and one rabies when the pup is small, and just get the pups tested for antibodies every year during annual visits instead of re-vaccinating whether the dog has antibodies or not.
When it comes to not vaccinating dogs at all, I have also heard that it is possible for dogs to have antibodies because when you vaccinate your dog, your dog sheds some of the virus. Any dog that is exposed to that small amount of the virus builds antibodies. It is like natural vaccination. That is how wild dog clans build up their immunities against some diseases.
Not vaccinating at all seems very risky to me because clearly you cannot steak out newly vaccinated dogs and expose your dogs to them so they will build immunities to diseases.
It is definitely a topic worth researching.
