i have the same problem. when kirby was old enough to go to the groomers, they scooped his underneath. wow what a difference. now he is ready for it again.
i think the advise above to let someone else hold him is probably the best.

when i brush kirby, i put a treat in a sock and tie it to a comb w a rubber band. i place it between my legs. he chews like crazy tring to get the treat out while i brush him and pull his hair up. maybe this might work. i haven't tried it. it just came to me.....maybe i will try this when cutting him. wow, i just gave myself some advise.
