More than likely, its scar tissue. When the edges of skin or layers of muscle are brought together to be sutured, they heal and alot of times leave scar tissue. Its harmless and poses no pain. Think of it as a seam in a shirt. Its not as smooth as the fabric around it. It feels "knotted".
