I've always taken my doggies with me on trips where I stayed in a pet-friendly hotel. You just register your pet when you check-in. I took Indy's crate with me and he was fine while I was out on business or out to dinner. If you're doing business thought you have to remember that they need more attention than they would at home so be sure you can offer them that.
