I would do a test run at a doggie hotel and if it goes well, I'd choose that route. I am taking Maggie with me, to stay in a hotel, from VA to Indianapolis, but only because I'm going for almost 3 weeks. It seems that for four nights it would be a lot of stress to fly cross country. Just my opinion.
